It's dicey to say he made a mistake...

We all set personal goals and targets for ourselves.

Personally I would have gone for the money.

He made his choice and decision. Maybe he feels he has something to prove.

He may still retire to the Saudi league in future and earn big.

Sometimes patience does it... you can't run faster than your shadow.

I wonder why the big clubs aren't coming (or willing to pay) for osimeh though!

The big clubs are. Not coming
And you are. Rejecting. The. Big money that has come

Did Victor Osimhen made mistake by rejecting
Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. Contract?

Imagine the money he would have earned by making this move. He would have murdered poverty for ever to the 4th generation.

But He choose to hang on to remain in Europe

What is your take?

European clubs failed Osimhen – Ex-Super Eagles press officer, Colin Udoh

A former press officer of the Super Eagles, Colin Udoh, has claimed that “European club football failed Osimhen”.

Udoh wrote this on X, amid the transfer speculations surrounding the future of the striker.

At the moment, it appears no club on the continent is prepared to take a gamble on the 26-year-old striker.

Al-Hilal are the most keen on taking Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.

Although the Nigerian striker was close to ing Chelsea last summer, the Blues have decided to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich ahead of next season.

Udoh tweeted: “European club football failed Osimhen.

“I dare anyone to list 10 of Europe’s best strikers right now without Osimhen.

“Scratch that, make it 5.”

please let's not go too far on his "future" after football. he earns in millions of euros every year. Even if he retires today, his future is already secured. It's just human nature to keep on seeking for more money.

Greatness or money

Champions league for a full season or club world cup for few days

Troost-Ekong, who was born in the Netherlands to a Nigerian father and Dutch mother, made his debut for the Super Eagles against Chad on 13 June 2015.

The 31-year-old made his 79th appearance for the three-time African champions against Russia at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow, on Friday night.

The centre-back thanked former Super Eagles head coach, the late Stephen Keshi, for handing him his debut.

He also expressed pride in taking over from Ahmed Musa as captain of the team.

“10 YEARS REPRESENTING NIGERIA:13.06.2015 – 06.06.2025

I will never forget the ‘Big Boss’ Stephen Keshi for believing in me to make my debut in Kaduna that day a decade ago,” the Al-Kholood of Saudi Arabia defender wrote on social media.

“79 caps, 5 major tournaments, 3 medals later. It is my biggest pride to be the captain of this nation & team.

“No dream is ever to big. This is my purpose, and I will continue to strive to be better everyday.
GRATEFUL!”

Amotolongbo:
Cyril Dessers conversion rate isn’t so okay. He could score just two out of 15 chances. Don’t let the score card deceive you. I wish he could be given the chance to play in a serious match so you can assess his striking dexterity and performance, not the roforofo friendly where he roars like lion.

Cyril plays in a nearby city and many of the club fans don’t really like him cos he misses more chances than he converts.

I believe Toluwalase Arokodare has more to offer than Desser

What conversiion rate you are talking about
Cyril Dessers is the highest goal scorer in his league. Any game he plays for Nigéria he scores or gives assist

But Boniface over 13 starts for Nigéria
No goal...
See yesterday he play over an hour until he was changed
Of cos aruko... That subbed him scored the equalizer if not Russia would have won it

'I don hang boot' - Boniface confirms 'retirement' from Super Eagles after poor

Victor Boniface hints at quitting the Super Eagles after another disappointing outing against Russia, expressing pride but frustration in a heartfelt Instagram message.
Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has taken to social media following another disappointing performance for Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

On the occasion of his 13th international cap, Boniface struggled to make an impact as Nigeria came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Russia.

Starting the match but failing to influence the game, Boniface was substituted in the 61st minute for Toluwase Arokodare, who went on to score the crucial equaliser and rescue the Eagles from defeat.

The forward’s continued struggles at the international level have raised questions about his form and future role in the team.

Eric Chelle remains unbeaten as Eagles coach.
Reacting to the criticism and his performance, Boniface posted an honest message on Instagram, expressing both his pride and frustration.

He wrote: “Proud to play for my country and a dream for me also. Really enjoyed every moment, the good and the bad. Thanks a lot. Thank you all. I don hang boot.”

In Nigerian parlance “I don hang boot” means “I have hung my boot” suggesting that Boniface may be signaling his decision to step away from the national team, at least for now.

This statement has sparked widespread discussion among fans and football experts about the striker’s future with the Super Eagles.

As Nigeria looks ahead to fixtures, Boniface’s message adds a new phase of uncertainty around his international career.

ers will be keen to see if he clarifies his intentions or makes a return to the squad in the near future.

Nigeria come from behind to earn draw
Nigeria came from behind to earn a draw in a first-ever senior international match against Russia.

The Super Eagles arrived in Moscow full of confidence after winning the Unity Cup in west London last week, though they can perhaps take even more confidence at securing the result without several key names such as Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman and Ola Aina.

Those absences did open the door for the likes of Victor Boniface and Christantus Uche to impress, but it was Tolu Arokodare who made the most of the opportunity and has staked a claim to start the crucial World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa later this year.

As for Valery Karpin’s Football Union of Russia, who have been suspended by FIFA and UEFA since October 2022, it’s the first time they have failed to win since October 2023 - a run that stretched across eight games.

FULL-TIME
Russia 1-1 Nigeria

That’s it, it ends all square. Tolu Arokodare earns Nigeria a draw after the hosts lead at half-time through Semi Ajayi’s own goal.

Russia did have chances to win it late on but couldn’t find a way past Maduka Okoye.

90 min: BIG CHANCE

Russia pour forward in numbers, Barinov is in acres of space at the back post but he puts his effort over the bar. Was that the chance to win it?

Nigeria respond with a chance as Ogbu replaces Dele-Bashiru.

That is a change to shore things up at the back.

Four minutes of injury time has been signalled.

HALF-TIME
Russia 1-0 Nigeria

Hosts ahead at the break thanks to an own goal from Semi Ajayi.

It has not been a great half by any means but Nigeria are unlucky not to be on level as PSG goalkeeper made a wonderful save to keep out Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s effort.

35 min: Not a great deal in of a response from Nigeria since going a goal down. The front four are struggling to get in the game.

Here come Nigeria down the right, but they end up going backwards and sidewards allowing Russia to get back into a defensive shape
robosky02(m): 6:45pm On Jun 06
Russia 1-0 Nigeria
31 min: What a difference a week makes. Last Wednesday, Ajayi forced an own goal in Nigeria’s win over Ghana in the Unity Cup semi-final.

This evening the tables have been turned. In fairness to the defender, Komlichenko was lurking right behind him for a tap-in, so a goal was the most likely outcome regardless.
