They never learn. I abandoned my DSTV long ago.
Thank goodness for the invention of smart TVs. All I did was install a browser on my TV and stream all my football matches live on score808. Netflix does the rest for movies and I come online for news. The TV YouTube covers for the music.... DStv can kiss my black a$$ goodbye.

Whichever way you look at it, the apps still consume so much data to watch matches. But the good thing is that you get to choose whichever thing you want to watch.

Why not the approach used in the downstream oil industry?

The market should be made competitive and open . Let them give licenses to other interest

exactly. Instead of subscribing 30k per month on DStv compact plus before I can be able to watch UCL matches... Then still need to buy fuel of close to 5k to watch each match..

Why not make a data sub of 1500naira for 5gig on my Airtel router, then buy fuel of 5k... To watch all the matches at my own convinient time? I get to chose which one to watch like you rightly put it. But however you want to put it, DStv is really not for the average Nigerians...atleast not anymore

That 30k is for a month, but the 1500 naira is for a day. Airtel network can go off sometimes too and you get stranded.

you made it sound as if the DStv itself no dey fooork up during important matches when there's a little turbulence in the sky. All in all . The pay as you go option is okay for me. I get to decide which match I want to spend my money on. The 1500nairs sub will still cover for more than 3 matches if the streaming quality is set at not more than 480. The 5k fuel will run for more than 6hrs also. So it's better than way my bro. I've been using DStv since 2018 and I only stopped around February this year. And since then, it has been the best decision so far. I'm not the type that stays home due to the nature of my work. So what's the essence of spending 30k monthly on DStv when I only spend less than a week at home? Even if I stay at home all month, DStv still ain't worth that price for all the nonsense repetitive programs they air

I use Airtel router. And it works perfectly fine for my smart TV and even phones..I stream uninterruptedly most of the times.

What I know is that DStv should stop calling me to ask why I have not subscribed for months now, until they do the needful.

Do people still watch Dstv when there is smart TV and wifi?

IPTV to the rescue... They think by shutting cable down they will exploit Nigerians.

Have you computed how much you consequently spend on data, coupled with the fact that your so called live streaming comes at a much more delayed timing.

People are already shouting goal, whilst you still panic for goal🤷🏾‍♂️

Those saying it will be better.Well, I think you might need to have a re-think.

They will do their mathematical analysis very well. The cost and benefit approach will be employed. They will consider their cost of getting the viewing license and now factor their markup to arrive at their new price regime which will on the surface level look cheaper but in the grand scheme of things they are still cashing out big time.

Most times I won't blame them because of they tell you the reason for this increase in price they will be sent packing by those politicians who receive huge matching -ground money from them.

My question: Is it that Nigeria is that poor that we don't have shrewd business men who will give DSTV a good run for their money? All these money na water people shey na to dey follow Davido for yansh be Una calling?

The way I hate that Chief priest with ion ehnn not as a creature but for his empty arrogance and pride.

atleast I get to decide which games I want to watch? Also... Aside the 5k spending on fuel... If I do a monthly data sub of 15k for 60gig... It will cover for my netflix, any football games I watch, any YouTube streaming I do... All under a month and still under 20k. Unlike the DStv of 30k with repetitive shows.
