June 12: Recently,I paid a visit to Aba Prison, Abia State where I served 4 years out of my 15 year sentence for treason during the Abacha years. That was after being transferred from Kiri Kiri and Port Harcourt prisons.

My case mate was late Dr Beko Kuti among others. My with the outside world was Uba Sani who was also later arrested and lost .

Some of the historical personalities who were once detained in Aba Prison were Major Kaduna Nzeogwu and his Coupists colleagues.

The picture on the left was shot in 1995,by a prison staff who is now retired.


My eternal appreciation to Mrs Theresa Okoko and other prison staff for their kindness even though there were some brutal ones.

The list is incomplete without mentioning Senator @ShehuSani who languished in prison because of the June 12 struggle.

We must honor the sacrifices of the great people like the MKO Abiola who paid the huge sacrifice and others like Col Dangiwa Umar, Senator Shehu Sani, late Shehu Musa Yar’adua, Sule Lamido and others.

This is a true hero of democracy, and not one mediocre that was busy using the money of Fidelity Bank for his personal use when others were fighting the Military but later turned a democratic messiah to some shallow minded individuals overnight.

People like this need to be celebrated.

We are yet to see a single photo of the fake agulu messiah during the democracy struggle.

They “fought” for democracy but are happy to run a one party state & trying to silence free speech
