This should be common courtesy, but a lot of bosses allow their office to get into their heads so much that they even take pride in humiliating their staff in front of the spouses and sometimes even children.

Anything the soldier sees he should accept it in good faith

I’ve worked with both bosses who shout and those who don’t. Having held senior roles for years with people reporting to me, I can confidently say that shouting is a personal choice. Choosing to treat others with basic human dignity is always within our control—it’s a reflection of character, not circumstance.

Its common sense expected behaviour, when you denigrate a staff in front of their spouse you inadvertently could create crisis for them at home. They will use it against each during minor quarrel which could escalate if any of them makes reference to how the other was treated in the office and they will tell their partner they deserve same level of respect given to the boss from their spouse which is not how marriages work.

Military don't disrespect spouses of service men and women, that's why during their promotion spouses are invited to wear the new rank insignia on their spouses because it's assumed that the spouse is one rank above the officer, it means that if you are a Brig General, your wife is a Major General.
