TUANKU:
For now i will advise you take up your uncle's offer while you seek for something better.

Do you think it will be feasible?
Well, I'm planning on visiting him this weekend though to see how this play out?

If your uncle is an Igbo business man and doing visible well..

him..

He will put you through.. is just time.

But .. you mom.. she’s knows him more.

Again if he don’t have grown up kids.. him in his business.. he will teach you the secret of that business .
Loyalty matters a lot.. don’t disappoint him .. if you become successful under him

You’re being paid okay.. however use your young age to your advantage

We are Igbos nah....he has one grown up girl though and a small boy. Honestly, I have concluded on ing him this month not until when my Dad and mom called me and told me not to resign yet..... because of some certain remarks my uncle said or made about me....like been too sluggish to get a good work....just something like that.

Holluwhakemmy:
According to your analysis here, you said your uncle will be giving you 2k per day and your transport fare to his shop is 1600 what is now left for you if you use 1600 out of 2k, or he will be giving you transport fare apart from the 2k
If your answer is No, better stay with the hotel job with free accommodation till you see better offer.
2k per day.....as he said. No formal or written agreement. Just orally concluded.
Nedum001(m): 4:08pm On Apr 12, 2024
No sir, he is into buying and selling of electrical materials and into haulage too.
Onuimo1:
Is your uncle an artisan? What kind of business does he do? If he's into buying and selling, don't follow him. Kindly tell him you're working out other things yourself that your current job is not your final destination.
But if he's into a kind of handiwork that you can master and within some months depending on your level of concentration you'll master it and become a boss of your own give it a consideration.

I started small bro....my first time in lagos after Nysc....my work was as a contract staff with frigo glass.... I left it for a cashier position with a supermarket and now as an clerk in a hotel.....but I don't want to end small BOSS, I want to climb up the ladder that's why I started applying for entry level roles with top organizations in Nigeria.....my uncle is into buying and selling....and into haulage too, he said I should come and stay in the park amd be helping his boys in offloading and other things.... don't you think I might be affected on the long run by such work? So it's not about knowing in and out of Lagos....he is only concerned about his biz and wants me to help him while looking for something better. I asked here because I believe there are more experienced people or graduates that have ed through this phase of my life that I'm currently in now. Thank you

I will be turning 26 by May next month....I feel working in a hotel as a cashier is not paying me enough, because of the meagre salary that I was been paid.... although the hotel doesn't sell that much and it is a one man business.

Now the issue is this, I was offered accomodation in the hotel and sometimes, because I tend to go out and write exams and assessment centre for some of the entry level position that I want to opt in for in Lagos, making me to spend sometimes at most 6k to and fro for those exams and assessment. I can be able to save any penny or Kobo.

My uncle that I'm currently living with before I got this Job(hotel work) is not happy with me, because he is always complaining of me not coming back home to his house atleast to sleep over and see them..... infact, he is saying that the work is not good for me....salary is a little bit 40k.... let's just say 50k total....he said that i should resign and come back home....I told him that I'm currently applying and looking out for more entry level roles or better opportunities that will suit and pay me as a graduate but he is not aligning with me. He is telling me to come back home and if I did not get any job, I should him in his business.....that he will be paying me 2k on a daily basis.....yes, that's a nice offer but I started considering transport from his shop to his house which will almost cost me 1600 on a daily basis.....

Normally, as a vibrant and young guy, I always like been independent, hustling and trying to find my own feet without stressing or depending on someone but my uncle is not seeing it like that....he is always saying that since I came to Lagos, have not achieved anything and I'm busy chasing shadows saying that I'm working....which kind of work is that? Infact going to the extent of telling my parents in Owerri that I'm sluggish, that's why I have not gotten a job......

Like this, I'm really confused....my mom is telling me to still hold on this work...while dey try to see if they will work out something for me from their own end... Because of my age, I'm only keen on applying for entry level roles and the last one I thought, I would have gotten with a painting and coating company, I was ghosted after the final interview with the management team.

Right now, I'm just distablized.....I can't continue working in a hotel earning this low amount of money.....
I'm just trying to find a way out....if I resign now and go back home, what will I be doing? They might turn me to boi boi....u know human beings....

I'm just scared of the unknown.

Please all opinions will be welcomed here.
I will be 26 by May...soon.

My plan is to save up and get a phone but at the end of the day, nothing, I mean absolutely nothing.....

Life of a second class 2:1 gradute of biological science no suppose hard like this....

Lol....I only worry because I believe that I'm not supposed to be where, I am currently but in God I put my trust in.

I can be a little adamant and stubborn sometimes though.... that's what makes me human but trust me, humanity comes first on my list before religion.

So what about all the children that died of SEVERE STARVATION in the civil war?

What about the children being raped and traded daily at IDP camps for the past 10 years?

What about the young girl that lost her eyes and vagina to ritual killers on BRT bus?

What about Deborah?

How about the Ekiti school children that spent days in kidnappers caves?

All the plenty children that will sleep hungry this night because of bad governance.

Were they all born out of such marriages?

What about you? YES YOU with the senseless thinking? What kind of marriage did your parents have to make you so shallow?

Thanks Chief. But do you think leaving a cashier position at Sterling (outsourcing staff) for it, is a good idea?
Depends on your ion and interest.....if you like the cashier work and they are paying you well, then you can still stay with it....one thing I don't know is the amount this our is paying though? It all depends on you

Generations are typically categorized based on shared birth years and common life experiences. While there can be variations and overlap, here are some commonly recognized generations:

1. Silent Generation: Born approximately between 1928 and 1945, the Silent Generation experienced significant events such as World War II, the Great Depression, and the post-war economic boom. They are known for their traditional values and work ethic.

2. Baby Boomers: Born approximately between 1946 and 1964, Baby Boomers are characterized by the significant increase in birth rates following World War II. They experienced cultural shifts, such as the civil rights movement, the sexual revolution, and the rise of television.

3. Generation X: Born approximately between 1965 and 1980, Generation X grew up during a time of social and economic change, including the end of the Cold War, the rise of technology, and changing family structures. They are often associated with independence and scepticism.

4. Millennials (Generation Y): Born approximately between 1981 and 1996, Millennials came of age during the digital revolution and globalization. They are known for their comfort with technology, diverse perspectives, and focus on work-life balance.

5.Generation Z (Zoomers): Born approximately between 1997 and 2012, Generation Z is the first generation to grow up entirely in the digital age. They are characterized by their fluency with technology, social media usage, and concern for social and environmental issues.

6.Generation Alpha: Born approximately from 2013 onwards, Generation Alpha includes children born to Millennials and Generation Z. As the youngest generation, they are still growing up, but they are expected to be highly connected, technologically savvy, and diverse.

These generational labels are often used to analyze social trends, consumer behavior, and cultural shifts, but it's important to that individuals within each generation are diverse and may not fit neatly into stereotypes. Additionally, definitions and boundaries of generations may vary depending on cultural and regional factors.

Will I be permitted to you in this mission boss? I have a lot of responsibilities too. We can work together, bring up ideas on how to achieve this goal. What do you say?

Yes, I'm gonna be taking a photo everyday and won't be shaving my beards until I make $500. I have been wanting to take a photo everyday since I was a teenager but I spent most of my teenage years in prison so I didn't get to do that. This is because I didn't know I would turn 18, I thought I would die before I reached 18.

I'm gonna be 22 on 28th of this month and I'm poor, the responsibilities on my shoulders is weighing me down. It's even more depressing looking back to see how I spent my teenage years.

Anyway, last time I shave, those bumps became a thorn in my flesh — it all started when I was made to use shaving stick in that prison. I applied methylated spirit on my beards and it really got very dark and kinda filled up.

So hey, let the challenge begin. So help me God... I will post an altered picture here.

I'm not lazy.....I don't just have capital to go all in.....

I usually laugh whenever peeps with skill(s) whether conventional or digital use capital as excuse in this era of massive internet awareness.
It's either you are quack in regrds to the skill(s) you claim or you are plain lazy...@Nedom001 which category do you belong?

Marketing, buying and selling of goods. I can design and create a website, a standard one and also, i can trade crypto currencies too but it is lack of capital that made me not to be serious with it again

I don't think so, I don't see myself as young again, maybe this is because of the mapped out goals that I'm yet to achieve, that I thought initially, that I would have achieved at this age. I graduated from the uni at the age of 21, served 23 and still looking for a good job till now. It sorts of breaks my heart. Last two months, I mapped out a goal to enter into any organization as an entry level employee and truthfully speaking, I have written almost 10 different assessment and I always get knocked out in the second or third stàge, it sorts of breaks my heart. A high achiever like me failing those assessment. As the first son of my mom, siblings are already expecting one or two from me and when I can't give it out, it sorts of gives sleepless night. I'm just been optimistic that this stage of my life will one day. Thanks BOSS.
Adewale1603:
You are still young, just 25. 25yrs old are still in 100level, 200level in schools. Don't be too hard on yourself. You just need to focus, you graduate early. Some people are just graduating at 29.

I just ed this great forum and I have been asking myself this question.....how can I make the most, out of this great platform? I'm a graduate who is ionate about sales, business and any form of dealings that involves buying and selling, with high maximum of integrity to deliver on the job. I really want sincere advice from the gurus here on how to make the most, out of the great platform.

How to connect with legit people and not scammers?
How to business deals of any kind?
How to make money too?
And how to get a good opportunity to learn a skill?

I'm currently jobless, I have written like different banks graduate trainee assessment and at the end of the day, it is either I was knocked out in the second stage or it will be in the interview stage. Age is no longer on my side as I'm currently 25, graduated with a 2:1 in Zoology and Environmental Biology. My plan was to do masters but I don't have any good job to help me raise enough funds for application fees and ports to pursue my dreams. I seriously need advice from the experts who have experienced this kind of situation that I'm currently in right now, because it's driving me insane.

Life has been tough for me this last one year that I completed my Nysc. It all looks like that I am losing it at every attempt that I make to be successful. I seriously need help and advice, mentorship, even if it involves learning a new thing, as far as it will eñable me to grow financially and mentally. It will be welcomed
