All base stations are run using generators....these generators run almost 24 hours a day
Site may burn between 4 to 40Litres per hour of diesel...Diesel is approximately 1k

So it means a site will burn 4k to 40k every hour multiplied by 24hrs ....that's 96k to 960k.....per day

Multiply that by 40,000 sites ....and that is just for running of the base stations alone

Lets not even talk of other operational cost.


If PHCN was stable and Diesel cost was cheaper the cost of our data would have been lower......its just the cost of doing business in Nigeria
