The question is

“What does he want?”

What’s in it for him?

The AI he’s promoting, I was on AI recently, and it said the world owes Africa $5000 trillion for its exploitation. Gave me full itemised calculations.

Bill Gates should be campaigning for reparations.

We don’t need his charity.

Britain owes Nigeria $50 trillion, by ChatGPT calculations. Which works out at $300,000 for every single Nigerian, including babies.

Bill Gates should be campaigning for reparations.

We don’t need his charity.

The Nigerian govt is building Africa’s first AI university, a bigger project than this Bill Gates’ own.

We have also hosted a massive AI summit in Abuja around 6 months ago which attracted professionals from across Africa.

Nigeria is not slacking in the AI revolution at all.

In Africa, it’s Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa that are leading the AI race.

Historic, as Nigeria signs an agreement to build the first Nigeria AI Scaling Hub backed up by $7.5 million funding by the Bill Gates Foundation.

The Honorable Minister of Communications, Innovations and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani made this known on Tuesday 3, 2025.

In his tweet, he said:
"A few weeks before my appointment as Minister, I had the privilege of moderating a powerful conversation with @BillGates and young African innovators. Artificial Intelligence featured strongly that day — alongside a clear call to strengthen the innovation ecosystem to unlock Africa’s full potential.

Today, mid-way into President @officialABAT’s istration, I had the honour of welcoming Mr. Gates, Paulin Basinga, Uche Amaonwu, Bunmi Okunowo and the incredible Gates Foundation team to my office.

Our conversation was rich — anchored on two pillars critical to Nigeria’s future: Connectivity and Artificial Intelligence.

We concluded the visit with something truly historic — the g of an agreement to establish the Nigerian AI Scaling Hub, backed by up to US$7.5 million in funding and expertise from the Foundation. This initiative will help accelerate the application of AI in healthcare, agriculture, and education — critical sectors where impact matters most to everyday Nigerians.

This moment means a lot — personally and nationally. I’m grateful for the trust, collaboration, and shared belief that Nigeria can lead, not just in adopting technology, but in shaping it to solve real problems.

Thank you, Mr. Gates and team.

The work continues.

#NigerianExcellence."

Have you ever asked yourself what Gates has to gain by leaving his businesses and focusing on the poorest of the poor? He was the richest man in the world. Since he did that he's dropped out of the 20 richest. See today's Forbes ranking below.
