It cannot be escaped. Protest or no protest, government must always raise funds to run the country. I will only advise every government to focus on more taxing for the fat cats who cannot even stage a protest in the midst of the luxury they already enjoy. But not too much taxation that prevents their creation of jobs for the ever angry mob. To run campaign as a populist ed by the youth, is not the same reality with taking hard decisions as a leader for the greater good. 62 Likes 6 Shares |

Some of the proposed taxes had included increasing levies on essentials such as bread and diapers. America thrive on Taxes, that is why it is the best country in the world.... Article 1 of the United States Constitution grants the U.S. government the power to establish and collect taxes. Article 1 : for emphasis sake! A U.S. resident's income is generally subject to tax in the same manner as a U.S. citizen. If you are a U.S. resident, you must report all interest, dividends, wages, or other compensation for services, income from rental property or royalties, and other types of income on your U.S. tax return. You must report these amounts whether they are earned within or outside the United States. Make we carry una reach there...... (ka gbeyin debe)..... U.S. residents are generally taxed in the same way as U.S. citizens. This means that their worldwide income is subject to U.S. tax and must be reported on their U.S. tax return. Income of residents is subject to the graduated tax rates that apply to U.S. citizens If you want to know how paying taxes later come to help their citizens, here we go.... Taxes also fund programs and services that benefit only certain citizens, such as health, welfare, and social services; job training; schools; and parks. Article 1 of the United States Constitution grants the U.S. government the power to establish and collect taxes. How much does USA tax its citizens? Here we go again... The federal income tax rates remain unchanged for the 2024 tax year at 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% and 37%. Where do US taxes go? The majority of this revenue is used to pay for government activities (employee salaries, infrastructure maintenance), as well as to pay for goods and services provided to United States citizens and businesses. In FY 2023, the federal government spent $6.13 trillion. We will summarize it all in our below post.... 22 Likes 5 Shares |

“It would be wrong and an insult to the people of Kenya to reintroduce the finance bill, But there are provisions in that bill that would have helped the country to grow.” Are taxes good for the economy? Tax affects economic growth by reducing consumer spending and lowering incentives to invest. But different fiscal policies have variable overall economic effects, with taxes on income better than those levied on corporate profits in of their wider impact on GDP. The only problem with our own darling nation is that, Are the government since 1960 make the good law abiding citizens of Nigeria benefits from the taxes they have been collecting? And the 2nd and final question is, How many Nigeria citizens actually pay taxes? Food for thought. We Rise ✔️ 19 Likes 4 Shares |

In the words of Austin O'Malley: "Levying taxes is just like removing the wool of the sheep; it is well to stop when you get down to the skin!" Too much tax burden on already impoverished people is like removing the wool with the skin of the sheep and inflicting pains 6 Likes 1 Share |

I always wonder why people believe protests and riot will change the economic fortunes of a country. There's this economic lie that always precedes any riot or protest, it's the issue of reducing the cost of Governance. President Ruto sacked all his entire cabinet, reduced the salary of his staff, but that didn't increase the revenue of Kenya. Africa must accept it's a resource rich continent but cash poor continent. The earlier we discard the narrative that we are a cash rich continent, and focus on how to make our resources work for us,the faster we will move out of poverty on the continent. Our young people in Africa should stop all this economic protest but start focusing on how to industrialize Africa,we need a collaboration between countries in Africa to turn out fortunes. Alh Dangote has shown the way by building the biggest Refinery in Africa,I hope other wealthy Africans will take a cue from him and focus on industrializing the continent, enough of these protest that will end up producing no results. God bless Nigeria God bless Africa 8 Likes |

Looking at the now defunct finance bill that was shut down in Kenya, you will notice the bill was meant to raise a paltry sum of $2.7b. Despite this small amount the citizens resisted it. Tinubu has raised over $8b dollars since the removal of subsidy in PMS and Electricity and yet nothing to show for it only increased spending to the legislature and judiciary while the common man is meant to wallow in abject poverty. Nigeria please shine your eyes and look beyond your geographical space. Nigeria is made up of crazy people, majority of whom are sentimental. 3 Likes |

The government must surely explore means of raising more revenue for carrying out its development activities. But it must implement tax measures that would be favourable to the masses and not place undue strain on their paying capacity.

If we want an end to hunger and hardship in Nigeria, the solution is Peter Obi! He represents the hope of the common man. I believe he will not disappoint! If after 4 years the status quo remains, he will be booted out! Vote Peter Obi come 2027!

post=131496332: In our land, we don't see benefit of tax, we dig bore hole by our selves for water, we buy solar and generator for electricity, we pay private security in our estates, we don't have proper health insurance, our roads are bad shape, we don't have sporting facilities. The US takes tax and provide for her citizens. In our own, politicians will swallow it. They swallow money borrowed, swallow everything. Subsidy has been removed, the money used for subsidy, what has it done for us now ? Nigerians provide the essentials by them selves which is bad. Govt has no value here. If U have heart issue and need emergency health care in 1 hour, U will die in Nigeria because U can't get one within that time range. It robbers come to Ur house, no emergency number to call. U are finished. Absolutely we live in a useless society. Govt live large and their gf and bf enjoy massively 6 Likes 1 Share |
